This year's Adams lecture was 18 months in the making and focused on music at Arbury in Mr Gilfil's Love Story 

 Vivian Montgomery, an award winning harpsichordist talked about the 18th century musicians who taught Sally Shilton, the wife of the Reverend Ebdell.  David Paterson spoke of historical facts relating to Sally and how George Eliot integrated her into her story.
