Guest of honour - David Paterson

David is a firm friend of the Fellowship and has been a regular speaker at events, where he links his knowledge as a professional historian to his love of George Eliot and produces new insights and new information on the local area and George Eliot’s place in it.

We invite up to 20 or so groups with a George Eliot connection (such as the hospital and several schools), the Mayor and a representative of WCC to lay wreaths in honour of the world-famous writer who grew up here.

Refreshments are then served in the Museum Tea Room. Everyone is invited and there is no charge!
