George Eliot's Clerics

Professor Constance Fulmer

Pepperdine University Seaver College

2.00pm at Chilvers Coton Heritage Centre, Avenue Road, NUneaton CV11 4LU

Connie Fulmer is a very old friend of the Fellowship, having been a member since the early 1970s. She has accompanied us on tours to Florence and Andalucia, giving lectures to our groups on both occasions from her deep knowledge of George Eliot. She and her partner Margaret barfield published a pioneering book on Edith Simcox, Eliot's admirer during the last years of her life.

Connie has a particular interest in Eliot and religion and so her paper will fit into out theme for the year and her presentation will be the second special event in memory of Kathleen and Bill Adams.

We are fortunate that Connie is in the UK at this time for a conference in Canterbury and we are fortunate that she can fit us into her busy schedule before she returns to the USA.
